Our technology

Our next generation SAAS platform is using an exciting mixture of technologies using Amazon Web Services extensively for stability and high availability.  We use Amazon Redshift as a data warehouse and reports are generated using a combination of MicroStrategy and custom SQL scripts

 

We practice Continuous Integration and use GitLab for our version control and integration pipelines.

 

As a Data Quality Assurance Engineer with Virgin Pulse, you will work to assure that the data in our databases and reporting are accurate and reliable.  You will work in a fast-paced environment with teams building database tables, creating data pipelines, creating complex SQL flat file reports, and building business intelligence reports and dashboards. You can work on a fast-paced team responsible for maintaining the data and reporting pipeline.  These teams will work with you to ensure that all reports have solid quality testing and that they are without error.

You are a person that is passionate about top quality data and technology, and you enjoy testing and “breaking things” to find and resolve problems. 

 

In this role you will wear many hats but your skills will be especially essential in the following:  

  • Problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Understanding differences between reports in disparate systems and how to capture and investigate inconsistencies between them
  • Key quality measurements and understanding
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Able to test data from multiple perspectives to ensure accuracy

Qualifications

You also take pride in offering the following Core Skills, Competencies, and Characteristics:

  • B.S./M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent technology experience.  Each will be considered equally. 
  • Must have strong SQL knowledge
  • 2 or more years’ experience doing quality assurance work with data, data files, or data visualizations
  • Experience in testing and quality assurance processes and methods
  • Python programming language knowledge
  • Intermediate Python knowledge
  • Microsoft Excel
