Responsibilities

Who are you?

 

The Virgin Pulse Proposal Team is a collaborative group of individuals who deliver high-quality written responses to new prospects and renewing client RFIs and RFPs. The team includes proposal writers and a database manager. We value initiative, accountability, and mutual support.

  • Proposal Management process and procedure best practices.
  • Team and pipeline management.
  • Managing win rate and company reporting for all proposals.
  • Experience with change management.
  • Setting quality standards and providing quality assurance for proposal team.
  • Expert user of proposal software (Qvidian preferred)

 

In this role you will wear many hats, but your knowledge will be essential in the following:  

  • Evaluate current proposal process and create plan for improvements
  • Implement processes and procedures to ensure all proposal team members are providing same level of service to internal customers.
  • Bring best in class knowledge and experience of proposal process
  • Manage proposal volume and assignment to balance workloads
  • Ensure final proposal document production (in print and/or electronic format) is consistent and adheres to brand standards
  • Provide monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of proposal management team work including deal progression, win rates,
  • Ability to expertly support team of proposal managers with management and technical writing assignments.
  • Identifying gaps and working effectively across the organization to gather information.
  • Incorporate competitive intelligence, market feedback, and other findings into the proposal responses.  
  • Assist database manager with ongoing content maintenance and updates.  
  • Track activities and opportunity information using a CRM system (Salesforce.com)  

Supervisory Responsibility

  • Management experience of a proposal team and process in the last 5 years
  • Manage team of proposal managers to ensure quality and timely completion of assignments.
  • Partner with leadership on end-to-end proposal team process improvements
  • Management of quality process, editorial process, and brand adherence
  • Manage Proposal team metrics and ensure timely delivery for leadership.
  • Active participant in proposal software relationship management

  • A Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Journalism, Business, Communications or other field of study requiring superior written communication
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience managing and responding to employer, health plan, consultant-driven RFIs and RFPs
  • Minimum of 5+ years managing a proposal team & process
  • Formal Proposal training preferred.
  • Project management skills, ability to manage multiple projects, delivering quality results under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  • Must be results oriented with a drive for excellence.
  • Exemplary organizational skills including accuracy, timeliness, prioritization and detail orientation.
  • Experience with SalesForce
  • Experience working in Qvidian or similar Proposal Management tools.
  • Team leadership
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Experience in the TPA/Health Plan landscape as well as direct to employer market

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $130,000 to $145,000. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for 20% target bonus/variable compensation as well as health, dental, vision, mental health and other benefits.
