Who are you?

The Cloud Architect will translate business requirements into scalable, secure, highly available, and cost-effective architectures in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) public cloud. The Cloud Architect will collaborate with solutions architects, software engineers, site reliability engineers, and infrastructure engineers to understand business requirements and design optimal cloud infrastructure solutions. The Cloud Architect will work with Engineering leaders to establish best practices around network design, use of AWS services, security, scalability, high-availability, and cost optimization.

In this role you will wear many hats, but your knowledge will be essential in the following:  

• Serve as a subject matter expert in AWS services, design patterns, and Well-Architected best practices.
• Work with engineers to create and/or refine infrastructure designs in alignment with internal and regulatory standards.
• Publish reference architectures and maintain infrastructure diagrams.
• Provide cost estimates for new implementations and periodically perform cost optimization reviews on existing infrastructure footprint.
• Cultivate relationships with Engineering leaders and teams to build trust and maintain open, proactive communication across the organization.

What you bring to the Personify Health team:

In order to represent the best of what we have to offer you come to us with a multitude of positive attributes including:

• 5 years of hands on experience with AWS services and best practices
• Demonstrated experience designing complex cloud infrastructure at scale
• AWS certification at Associate level or higher preferred
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure is desirable.
• Previous experience in healthcare or other highly regulated industries preferred.

You also take pride in offering the following Core Skills, Competencies, and Characteristics:

• Strong experience and extensive knowledge of key cloud computing constructs, patterns, and architectures
• Strong understanding of security best practices for AWS infrastructure and web services
• Strong understanding of AWS cloud cost models and a history of practical cost optimization accomplishments
• Practical experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies and pipelines
• TCP/IP networking and VPC constructs
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD patterns and containerization technologies
• Excellent written and verbal communication, ability to create clear and detailed design documents and diagrams

In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $128,000 to $160,000. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for 10% target bonus/variable compensation as well as health, dental, vision, mental health and other benefits.
